The construction of the largest photovoltaic park in Europe, which will start in 2023 in Arad county, will cost approximately 800 million euros, the representatives of the investor and the developer announced on Nov 2022.
They also conveyed that, in addition to this 1,044 MW project, two more photovoltaic parks will be built in the county, which will provide another 800 MW. The county authorities, together with the representatives of the investor and the developer, presented to the Arad County Council (CJ) the project they are working on in the area of Pilu and Grăniceri communes, which would be completed in December 2024, when it would be delivered to the network the first amount of energy produced. According to the developer and the authorities, it will be the largest photovoltaic park in Europe, and Arad county will become an “energy pole”, writes Agerpres.
Monsson, the developer, has about 2,000 MW of projects in Arad county, and two more photovoltaic parks will be built, starting in 2024 at the latest, in the area of Chişineu-Criş and Macea, which together will have about 800 MW. These two parks would be completed in 2026, the investments being around 600 million euros. The three projects in Arad county developed by Monsson would mean total investments of 1.4 billion euros.
