The state company Hidroelectrica, the largest electricity producer in Romania, continues to implement its strategy for the acquisition of renewable energy production assets, after the purchase of the Crucea Nord wind farm in Dobrogea, and analyzes the takeover of a photovoltaic power plant in Rătești village , Arges county. The land on which the solar park would be built and the other assets related to the project are in the possession of Portland Trust Renewables 1 SRL, former Bucharest Business Park SRL, controlled directly by a Cypriot offshore. The company is part of the Portland Trust group, one of the most important real estate developers in Central and Eastern Europe, founded and led by British businessman Robert Neale.
